MASTERTON v. MAN AW AT U
The match between the Masfcerton and Manawatu teams was concluded on the Park yesterday afternoon. Manawatu made 117 in their second innings. Reischer (45), Roberts (26) and Ongley (14) batting well. Masterton required 197 runs to win, and at one stage of the game, thanks to the good play of Perry (4S), Redmond (not out 40), Moorehouse (35) and Moss (21), it looked as if the local team would win, but the tail failed to "wag," and they were beaten by 21 runs. Perry was in for two hours and gave a particularly attractive display for his runs. He played correct cricket, and was', good all round the wicket. Redmond's total was made also by capital cricket, and he punished the loose bowling severely. Moorehouse played a good innings, and made some very neat strokes. Moss hit hard for his runs, and ran them up in a very short time. The following were the scores:— MANAWATU. Second Innings.
