A PALMERSTON COMPLAINT.

SUSPENSION OF GOODS TRAFFIC. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 26. Palmerston merchants are entering an empthatic protest against the action of the Railway Department in closing the goods sheds all day yesterday from 10 a.m., owing to the men being required to deal with traffic in connection with the race meeting here. It consequence it is alleged that the bulk of the Christmas trade from the Main Trunk was lost, orders being placed at Wanganui. The Foxton people also were unable to get their orders delivered.
