The machinery is to arrive about the middle of January, and it is anticipated that the light will be "turned on" early next March. . The election of officers on Tuesday night at the meeting of Court Makakahi, A.0.F., resulted as follows;—C.R., Bro. Nicol; S.C.R., Bro. Crocker; S.W., Bro. Cittadini; J.W., Bio. W. Anderson; 5.8., Bro. Hinton; J. 8., Bro. Williams; Secretary, Bro. Wise; Treasurer,Bro. Knight; Third Auditor, Bro. Bedding. There was very keen competition for some of the junior offices. There were six nominations for one office. There seems to be some probability settling the vexed question of the pound site. Messrs Nelson (County) and Wise (Borough) have after a tour of inspection selected a site "to recommend to the bodies interested" in Stanley street. The site is some ten chains from the nearest residence and! has excellent drainage.
