WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
The Wellington Land Board held a special meeting on Monday. There were present:—Crown Lands Commissioner, Mr J. Mackenzie (chair), Messrs A. Heese, J. Dawson, J. M. A'Court ai d C. J. Canton, Following sub - leases were granted:—Section 2, block 4, Kaiwhata, Public Trustee in estate of H. G. Kummer to P. H. W. Hummer; section 20, block 6, Mount Cerberus, F. Girdwood to W. J. C. Maddever; section 14, block 10, Mount Cerberus, T. P. Girdwood to W. J. C. Maddever. Transfers were granted to the following:—Kaitawa, C. P. Knight and G. V. to C. P. Knight; secfion 34, block 11, Mangaone, J. and K. Handley to M. Godinagh; section 35, Pongaroa Suburbs, P. Robinson ta A. Dickens; sfcction 13, etc., block 10, Kaitawa, G. V. Kemsley to j G. P. Knight; sections 31, 156 and 157, Makuri, T. J. G. Simpson to J. H. Powell. The Board decided, with reference fc> the promissory notes for £l7 19s 7d executed by Mr A. J. H. Busst for grass seed supplied tp renew the burnt area on section 13, block 7, Tararua, that if Mr Busst will repay one-half the amount and fresh promissory notes payable on demand for the balance are executed by the parties, a l°rtg p d against any dealings with th 6 Section would be removed. The new promissory notes are not to be presented for payment before the original dates unlass any attempts are made to deal with the section, or such action is taken as in the opinion of the Commissioner would depreciate or affect the security of the Crown. P. N. Nunn applied for a short $ extension of time in which to pay the three instalments of rent in I arrear on section 3, block 8, Huangarua (Longbush Settlement) amounting to £245 13s 9d. It was resolved that arrangements must be made to pay at least one-half of the amount within one month, particularly as by that time a further half-yearly payment of rental will also be due. Mr William Hall wrote stating that he was,residing on his father's freehold, about seven miles away from his section 3, block 2, Mangahao. I The term of residence expires on the 30th instant. No action taken. Mr J. A. White applied for twelve months' extension of time in, which to take up his residence on sections 9 and 10, block 3, Kewa (Longdate Subs). The ranger is to report. It was resolved to approve of Mr C. Eising's application for the freehold title of section 4, block 5, Mangahao. It was resolved to approve of s?cI tions 20, block 9, and 3, block iO, if Kuahine S.D., being offered as one lot of 2,755 acres as a small grazing run, under Part V. of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of 5 per cent, per annum on a capital value of £2,987 10s, the price of section 20 to be 25s per acre, and the price of section 3 20s per acre, inclusive of 5s per acre for loading.
