A HEADMASTER'S ANNIVERSARY.
On Friday last Mr W. H. Jackson. Headmaster of the Masterton Publi c School, completed the ZOth year of his administration of the School. During that neriod it is not too much to say that the Headmaster's success has been more than striking, and he guided the destinies of a big institution requiring great skill and judgment with a masterly hand. He has enjoyed the esteem and respect of scholars and public alike, and h3s always exhibited that personal interest in the welfare of the children entrusted to his teachers, not only during their school days but in after life, which has made him popular in the truest sense. His enthusiasm and energy in the direction of improving the environments and status of the School have likewise been characteristic, and the School has never wanted for a champion in the cause of advancement. The garden plots aione speak volumes for his undoubtedly capable and discerning judgment and personal j energy, while there are numerous other departments in the school curriculum which owe their place in it to the Headmaster. Mr Jackson seems as youthful and as enthusiastic as the day he took charge of the School, and we feel 3ure that parents and the public generally of Mastnrton will wish him an equally long further tenure of the very respons- ' ible position he has so admirably filled.
