Moloch, Sunbonnet, Tumut and Osiris were taken over from Dannevirke after the meeting there, while Riflemaid was entrained from Opaki on Saturday morning. BJue Ribbon ,and Kiltie Lass were taken through to Palmerston yesterday morning. The acceptances for the Lower Valley Jockefy Club meeting are as numerous as expected, and although the fields on Boxing Day will not be large, the racing should at least be vary interesting. Narcotic will be seen out in the Hurdles instead of on the flat. Seven will contest the principal handicap, and as they are practically of on» class the race still bears an open appearance. The biggest field of the day may be seen out in the Bracelet. The nine ac ceptors are a very even lot. Backers will be set a somewhat difficult task in the Otaraia Hack, of live furlongs, for among the thirteen acceptors there are at least seven that can gallop fast ov£jr the distance. The course is reported to be in fine order, and the arrangements in connection with the meeting are well forward. The .Manawatu Racing Club's summer meeting opens to-morrow, when a fine day's sport is promised. Moral has b'een scratched for all events at thejmeating. The Summer Handicap will bring out about ton starters, including previous good performers in Glenculloch, Kopu, Sunbonnet, Truganini, Crucinella, Moloch, Vasa and Arc Light. The Manawatu Stakes, of 500 sovs, will be a most interesting event, as it will bring out for the contest a number of the finest sprinters of the Dominion. This district will be represented in the race by Full Rate, Expansion and Kiltie Lass. The Awapuni Handicap is the sprint handicap for the day, and with Gold Thread, Moriarty, Golden Eagle, Mon Ami, Tumut, Sibter Anne and Lothair in the field, brilliant time should be recurded. The meeting will be continued on Saturday and Monday. H. McPbee has Tainui in work. The Stratbbraan mare is big in condition, but may bi raced at the forthcoming holiday meetings.
