. Thejpf.ople of Pahiatua are beginning to wonder what they are going to do for milk after the 16th of January if the local milkmen refuse to supply the town as notified. Mr Wagstaff informed me that the milkmen are at present in communication with dairymen all over the Dominion, and they intended to strictly adhere to the conditions mentioned, viz., to discontinue the borough milk supply unless the dairy regulations were relaxed, as they were liable to a fine of £SO. "It "would pay us better to supply the factory," said Mr Wagstaff, "as for a third offence, we are liable to a fee of £2OO, or if the S.M. thinks fit, twelve months' imprisonment without the option of a fine, «nd furthermore we have no right to appeal.''
