The Manawatu Cup of 650 sovs and the Palmerston North Stakes of 500 sovs. are also included in the programme. The course is in splendid order, and the lawn and flower gardens are lookii/g their best. The town is already filling with visitors, and the attendance on the first day promises to be very large. Lord Plunket and the Government House Party will be present on each day of the meeting.
A field of ten is expected to saddle up for the Palmerston North Stakes on Wednesday, some of the best blood in the Dominion being represented. The final payments for the Manawatu Cup of 650 sovs, 1£ mile, are as follow: —Apa 8.11, Kopu 8.3, Tangimoana 8.0, Bourrasque 7.13, Muskerry 7.13, Glenculloch 7.12, Moloch 7.11, Riflemaid 7,3, White Lie 6.13, Arclight 6.13, Truganini 6.12, Carrissima 6.7, Blue Ribbon 6.7.
