DROWNING ACCIDENT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, December 21. Intimation has been received of a drowning accident at Hangaroa, Poverty Bay. Cecil Bentham, aged 20, son of Mr Robinson Bentham, a well-known mercer at Dunedin, got out of his depth, whilst bathing, and was drowned before his companion could reach him. The body was subsequently recovered. The deceased was a bright and promising youth, and was learning sheep-farming on the Hangaroa station. The body will be taken to Dunedin tor interment.
