THE HOUSEBREAKING CASES.
ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT AT CARTERTON. REMANDED TO MASTERTON. Edward Richard Black, alias Wilson, Imrigio Tolley, alias Freeman, and Chas. Henderson, were brought before the Police Court at Carterton, on Friday, at which Mr B. Scannell, J.P.. presided, charged with having broken and entered int" the dwelling of George Edward Alisn, and with stealing therefrom goods of the value of £2 6s. Tha accused were found in possession of money and various articles of jewellery, and included in the list of things alleged to have been appropriated by them were cuisine edibles such as custards and puddings. The police stated that several were pendii.g against the accused by the Masterton police, and a remand to the latter place was asked for. The Bench remanded the three men to appear at Masterton on Tuesday (to-morrow).
The residence of Mr F. W. Temple was another place found to be the subject of the housebreaking raid on Friday afternoon. Mr Temple's loss is a gold watch and chain and a gold ring. A valuable escritoire was also damaged by the intruders.
