TINUI.

(From Our Own Correspondent). TINUI, December 16. A very welcome 24 hours' rain has fallen just in time to save the potato crops which were fast withering. Other crops will also be much benefited by the downpour, abundance of summer grass is now assured. A men's whare and shed, owned by Mr W. Harvey, Whakataki, was burned to the ground last Sunday morning. The building contained harness, etc., and as there was no insurance on the building or its iontents, the loss to Mr Harvey is considerable. I regret to report that there is no improvement in the condition of Miss Groves (Bushgrove), who ,is seriously ill.
