A MARATHON RACE.
DORANDO BEATEN. A CANADIAN INDIAN VICTORIOUS. Received December 17, 8.40 a.m. NEW YORK, December 16. Longbrat, a Canadian Indian, beat Dorando, the Italian long-distance runner, in a 26 miles' race at New York in two and three-quarter hours. Dorando was distressed at the twentieth mile. On entering the 26th he fell in a heap and rolled off the track.
Longbrat finished very fresh and alone.
