SECOND NIGHT OF THE FUNCTION.

There was again a splendid attendance at the Catholic Bazaar in the Town Hall, Masterton, last evening, although the weather was unfavourable. Again a select programme of items was given, which met with the emphatic approval of the audience, encores being demanded for nearly all the items. The juvenile dancers were very heartily applauded for their items, every one being encored. The programme was as follows:—Highland reel, eight Scotch lassies; comic duet, "Money Matters," Misses Bennington and Harris; coon dance, ten -little maidens; vocal solo, Miss Jago; hornpipe, Miss 1 Daphne Jones; bolero, eight Spanish maidens; Irish jig, twelve Irish colleens; Cakewalk, Miss Daphne Jones; sailor's hornpipe, jten blue-jackets; Irish step dance, Mias Ellen Hanley; Highland step dance, Miss Clemmie Mackay; Highland reel, eight Scotch lassies.

The business done at the stalls was again brisk, another substantial total for the evening being the result. ■ The works oi art raffled resulted in a big business for the bazaar. The winners of raffles were as follow :—F. Percy (2), F. Treder, P. J. Morant (2), J. Jones, J. Dunn, L. Kerr, Mrs O'Toole, L. Clancy, J. Barnes, R. Cochrane, Miss J. Simmonds, Father O'Kelly, E. Hunt, Miss Rita Hoar, F. O'Connell, and Mrs Chapman. The officials again worked most assiduosly, the Very Rev. Dean McKenna being most energetic, and bearing the bulk of the arduous duties attached to the affair. Mr F. J. Dupre, the popular secretary, was ably assisted in his work by Mr J. Dunn, who has worked hard all along to ensure success. The bazaar will be open this afternoon from 2 to 5 o'clock, and also on Saturday afternoon.
