MISSING BALLOT PAPERS.
DUNEDIN NORTH CONTEST. By. Association. DUNEDIN, December 14. It is stated that seventeen papers are missing in connection with the Dunedin North election, but no information is available as to the manner ot their abstraction. When the time arrived for declaring the result of the recount it •was ascertained that Mr Barclay was 12 votes ahead, but a number of voting papers are missing. The officials say that there is some difficulty about interpreting the Act, and show much reticence on the subject.
