CANTERBURY REPRESENTATIVES CHOSEN.

CHRISTCHURCH, December 13. 1 The weather to-day was wretched for cricket, light rain falling most of the afternoon and becoming heavier stopped play just after 6 o'clock. In the first grade competition West Christchurch gained a commanding lead over riast Christchurch, whilst Riccarton appears to have St. Albans safe. Linwood have got a decided advantage over Sydenham. The scores are; —East Cliristciiureh 125 v West Christchurch 296 for six wickets (H. B. Lusk 71); Juinwood 189 (H. C. Ridley ,55) v. Sydenham 38 for three wickfets; St. Albans 100 v. Riccarton 100 tor six wickets (A. Anthony 52). Mr D. Rees, the Canterbury selector, has chosen the following players to represent Canteroury against Wellington on December 25th, 26th and 28th:—A. Anthony; J. H. Bennett, C. Boxshall, E. Humphrey, T. Malone, A. Normans, A. Orchard, W. Patrick, D. Reese, A. E. Ridley and R. B. Wood. Lusk, Sims and Olliver are not available. The team to play against Auckland or the Plunket Shield is:—Anthony, Bennett, Boxshall, Humpreys, Lusk, Malone, Orchard, Olliver, Patrick, Reese, Sims and Wood.
DUNEDIN GAMES. [By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 13. Another round of the cricket matches was commenced yesterday in in fine weather. Dunedin B, playing against Dunedin C made 220 for eight wickets (Eckhola 96 not out). Grange made 35 in the first innings against Albion, and 72 for four wickets in the second. Albion compiled 91 in their first innings. Carisbrook A, after disposing of Opoho for 65, made 152 (Howden 47, Hopkins 45). Casey (Opoho) took eight wickets for 40, and Fisher (Carisbrook) 7 for 31.
AUCKLAND. By Telegraph —Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 13. The fifth round of the Auckland Cricket Association's matches w<jra commenced on Saturday afternoon in fine weather, but on very dead wickets. In the Senior grade matches Parnell ma 136 (W. Caro 49 not out, A. Kerr 52) against Ci*y. Cable took four wickest for 29 runs. The City has lost four wickets for 110 runrt (Archer 36, Lambert 31). University, playing against North Shore, made 103 (Robinson 47 not out). North Shore have made 135 for four wickets (Hadden 34, Bush 29, Phil son 29 not out). Ponsnnby against Gratfon made 163 (D. Gallaher- 43, Hemus 33). Grafton are 89 for three wickets (Horspool 56 not nut, Cottle 28). Eden celts against Eden A have made 227 for seven wickets (Relf 135 not out).
