MAINTAINING THE POUND.
The upkeep of the Borough pound was a matter which was discussed by the Masterton Borough Council last evening. Several Councillors considered that as the pound was a decided convenience to the county, the County Council should contribute towards its maintenance. Cr Ewington moved that the County Council be approached in the" direction of asking them for a contribution towards the upkeep of the pound. After a brief debate this was carried unanimously.
