PROTECTING PRODUCERS. MR J. W. TAVERNER'S HOPE. Received December 9, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, December 8. The Hon. J. W. Taverner, Victorian Agent-General, interviewed, said he had hopes of the speedy universal publication by the International Agricultural Institute of Government figures relating to wheat, wool, and other products. That would check lo some extent the speculation of the middlemen. t At the meeting (held in Rome xecentiy) of the General Assembly of the International Institute of Agriculture (the institute is the practical result of the efforts of the King of Italy to promote the interests of the agricultural community), Mr Tavertijpc urged that the institute should render practical aid to producers, thus enabling them to protect their interests.
