RACINGWOODVILLB SCRATCHINGS. By Telegraph—Press Association. WOODVILLE, December 8. The rain which has fallen the past two days has done the course a lot of good. The weather has every appearance now of remaining fine for the Woodville Summer Meeting, which commences to-morrow. The town is full of visitors, and everything points to a successful meeting.
The following horses have been scratched for all engagements:—Sir Antrim, Advantage, Astraea, D'nil, Moriarty, Chicane, Mallet, Teru and Charge." For the Hurdles, Indian Mutiny. Welter, White Star. ST. JOE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, December 8. While executing a gallop with Grand Slam to-day, St. Joe fell and broke his shoulder, and had to be destroyed. CRICKET. The following will represent Carlton in the match Carlton v. Carterton, at Carterton, to-morrow:—E. Welch, Fred. P. Welch, Boyd, Hoar, Styles, Moss, Carley, Lett, Boyce, Roberts, Williams, Owen. The drag will leave Cragg's corner at 1.30 p.m. sharp.
