TWO FRACTURED LEGS. By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, December 7. Moses Lamont, a drive*, was seriously injured through falling off a dray on Saturday night One wheel of the vehicle went over bath legs, which were badly fractured, one in three places.

RAILWAY ACCIDENT. INVERCARGILL, December 7. A railway fireman,- named Norman Thomson, aged 23, bad> one of his teet so severely crushed" this morning, that amputation was necessary. Having set the points, he jumped on to an engine, his foot slipped, and a wheel passed over his ankle, crushing it. DEATH OF A DOCTOR. AUCKLAND, December 7. Dr. A. T. Scott wad found dead at his surgery door at Waipu on Sunday evening. The circumstances point to death having been caused by hemorrhage of the lungs OLD COLONIST'S DEATH. DANNEVIRKE, December 7. The death is announced of Mrs John Speedy, of Herbertville. Deceased was on a visit to her son-in-law, Mr James Armstrong, of Glengarry. She had been in failing health, and expired suddenly last evening. The late Mrs Speedy was 68 years of age, and had resided at Herbertville for 45 years. The interment takes place at Herbertville. TWO SUDDEN DEATHS. CAMBRIDGE, December 7. Arthur Wm. Hamer, about 50 years of age, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. He arrived here a fortnight ago to start a photographer's business. He was formerly licensee of the Royal Oak Hotel, Onehunga. His widow and family are absent in England. OAMARU, December 7. James Smith, a carter, 33 years of age, and a resident of Oamaru, died suddenly this morning from heart failure. Deceased had never complained, and this morning seemed in his usual health and spirits. After a hearty breakfast he left in hia express for town, but had not proceeded far when he was noticed to fall back a;nd expire.

MOTOR CYCLE FATALITY

IfIVERCARGILL, December 7.

At the inquest to-day on the body of Win. Park; who died as the result of being knocked down by a motor cyclist named Cameron, a local dentist, Mr' Cruickshank, S.M., sitting without'a jury, found a verdict of accidental death, adding, "I won't say there is no blame attached to Cameron, because I think there is a little blame attached to him." The coroner added a rider that motor cycles should always be fitted with brakes on both wheels.
