COUNTY ROAD METALLING.

The first metal crushing plant erected in connection with Masterton County road works is about to be erected on Mr Mcßae's property at Weraiti, near the Weraiti-Fernyhurst road, by Messrs Langlands and Co. The metal to be crushed is to be used in connection with the road mentioned, and the innovation U one which is likely to prove a considerble advance nn the old method of metal crushing, from a financial aspect. Ihe County Engineer (Mr D. McLachlan), who has fought hard for the taking of the step decided upon by the Council in this respect, deserves great credit for the progressive view he is taking of • such an important branch of County work.
