WOOL SALES

w The Wairarapa Farmers' Co- J operative Association, Limited, re,'iPort, under date 4th inst., as follows: —The second wool sale of the season was held in the Town Hali, Wellington, at 9 a.m. to-day. There •was a large attendance of buyers, and compared with the November sale an advance of about 15 per cent., or Id per lb on medium coarse cross•■breds. Wel ! skirted, clean, fine crossbred and Romney were well • competed for, and sold at from Bfd to 9fd. Among the wool sold by us , 'Were the following brands: EE over wineglass, 46 bales Romney, 9§d, FC Crossbred, 7d; JWB, Crossbred, 7£d; TPA, Romney, 9d; OC over P, Cio tbred, 7d;CAC, Crossbred, 7fd. We quote as follows:—Fine cross--bred and Komney, well skirted and < clean, BJd to 9|d per lb; medium "crossbred, clean and well skirted, 7£d ;to BJd per lb; heavy conditioned and coarse crossbred, 6d to 7id per lb, dingy and log-stained, sfd to 6Jd per lb. ■ Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report.:—We held our second sale of the season nn Saturday, when «tve offered a catalogue of 3,150 bales .<outof a total catalogue of 7,500 bales) as compared with 1,900 at the ■ corresponding sale of last year. With the exception of a few lots, every\thing was sold under the hammer. ■ Competition was very animated ■throughout the sale. Buyers were 'present in large numbers, and included representatives from America, the Continent, Bradford, and local Lbuyers. The wool offered at this sale .•Was of very much better quality than 'at the November sale. Fine crossbreds and halfbreds were'.keenly competed for by American and the local woollen mills' buyers. LONDON MARKETS. | Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Welling;on, report having received the following cable from their London House under date of the 3rd December. —Frozen Meat —Beef —Market dull, but prices unchanged. Mutton —Market weak. Prices lower by Jd per lb. Lamb—Market weak. Since our last wire, for New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, light, arty change of ] prices is in favour of buyers, and for J heavy and inferior prices are lower by id to Jd per lb. Tallow -Good descriptions are neglected. Low and i inferior descriptions, a change, if any, is in favour of sellers. EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE. ! Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Eketahuna sale.—We j had a good yarding of both sheep and ' cattle, considerably more coming forward than were advertised, and we f have to report a total clearance at | prices in advance of our last sale here. We quote: Woolly hoggets j 10s Id, 2-tooth ewes to 10s lid, 2tooth wethers 10s 6d. CattleBullocks £5, 2J to 3 year steers £Z ss, 2 year steers £2 10s, 18 months steers 32s to 37s 6d, yearling steers 19s to 335, mixed yearlings 255, bulls from £2 to £5 2s 6d. MESSRS MACLEAN AND CO. Messrs J. A.J. Maclean and Co. report having held a most successful sale of household furniture on Friday afternoon at "The Pines," Victoria Street. There was an unusually large attendance of buyers, and ever j thing was sold at very satisfactory prices.
