THE NO-LICENSE MOVEMENT.
DEMONSTRATION IN CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, December 4. The No-License Party held a great demonstration tea and public meeting in His Majesty's Theatre yesterdC afternoon and evening. The building was crowded on both occasions, especially, .in r the afternoonh, being the shops' half-holiday. Speeches were delivered by leaders of the movement, and resolutions expressing thankfulness to God for past success and confidence in the future were passed. The meeting was very enthusiastic, and £l3O was raised for a fighting fund.
THE SUBURBS POLL.
RECOUNT WANTED
A petition has been lodged with Dr A. M*Arthur, S.M., asking for a recount of the votes polled at the Suburbs (Wellington) licensing poll on November 17th. The application is accompanied by the necessary deposit of £lO, and is signed by J. Shortis, T. W. Chapman, P. M'Leod, J. E. Fitzgerald, J. H. Wright, R. Randell and G. f E. Easson.
