THE WOOL MARKET. So far as we are able to judge che recovery in the price of wool is a genuine one, due to the fact that manufacturers both in Snglaid and America and on the Continent have allowed their stocks to become practically exhausted, \vhile there are gratifying indications that a general improvement in trade is setting in. "The Economist," of October 17th, published a communication from a correspondent intimately acquainted with the woollen trade of the West Riding of Yorkshire, who stated that trade was better than it had been, morj looms were running, more mills were going overtime, especially in the Huddersfield di-itrict. Throughout woollen areas, he added, there was a fairly hopeful feeling over the future. We have had advices of increased trade activity in America since the Presidential election, and, on the whole, the prospects for our sheepfarmers are distinctly brighter.
