The Hon. W. Hall-Jones, Mrs HallJoties, and the Misses Hall-Jones will leave for England by the Corinthic to-day. The new High Commissioner will tak«=! up his duties on January 16th next, which will be his 57th birthday. The Manawatu A. and P.- Associapassed a resolution regretting the resignation of Professor Lowrie, of Canterbury College, and expressing appreciation of the help he at all times gave the association andlthe farmers generally. The health of Mr D. M. for many years Deputy Commis-. sioner of the Government Insurance' Department, is causing his relativea and friends some anxiety.
