MASTERTON'S SEPTIC TANK.
LETTER TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH; DEPARTMENT. REQUEST FOR AN. INQUIRY.^ Masterton's septic tank is again becoming a, subject of discussion. It is understood that preparations are being made to clean out the tank, the contents ofi which will, to a large extent, get into the Ruamahunga River. Several Homebush residents are up in arms over the matter,, and a letter has been sent to the Public- Health. Department with a request that an, inquiry as to the Borough. Council's intentions ha made. The tank, at any time, it is alleged,, is-: more or less insanitary, and the method adopted of disposing of the sewage a danger to public health. It is pointed out that the Ruamakraga river should not be polluted, especially as a number of dairy caws drink the water in the vicinity of the sewage farm.
