RACING. RACES By Telegraph —Press Association. The opening day's racing in connection with the Takapuna Spring Meeting took place on the club's course at the North Shore this afternoon. The weather was fine, and notwithstanding the strong counter attractions, as the show there was a good attendance. The sum of £7,72.7 10s was invested'' on the totalisator. At the distance Advocate was the leader, but a little further on Pohutu dashed up on the outside, and catching Advocate a short distance from the post, the pair flashed past locked together, the judge declaring a dead heat.
