OPAKI RIFLE CLUB.
FIFTH TROPHY COMEPTITION. Long ranges were chosen for the ourth trophy match of the Opaki Rifle Club, which was completed on Saturday. The conditions attaching to the shoot were seven shots at each of the 800 yards and 900 yards ranges. The weather was good for the competition, and the consequence was that some good scores were for such long ranges. Rifleman R. J. King won the competition with 60 off the rifle, including the fine score of 31 at the 900 yards range. Rifleman J. Sutherland also put on 31 at the same range. In B class Rifleman T. Evans put •oi 53, including a handicap of one. Rifleman Harding put on a very attractive 32 at 800 yards. The best targets are illustrated below:— Rifleman R. J. King's target—9oo yards.
