WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MEETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was in the Dominiion Hall on Saturd?y afternoon. Mr D. McLachlan occupied the chair, there being also present! Messrs A Haughey, G E A Hood, J McHattie, J H Pauling, W Sellar and E H Waddington. The list of Stewards submitted by the sub-committee for the various events on New Year's Day as follows, were adopted:—Superintendent, Mr D. McLachlan; assistant sjserintendents. Messrs W L Falconer, G Stewart, J H Pauling and W Sellar; referee, Mr J H Pauling; timekeepers, Messrs J C Ewington, A Hendersun, J Scott, G R Sykes and. E H Waddington; handicappers—quoits, Messrs T Wyeth and J H Pauling; sawing and chopping, Mr H Wolfe; running, Mr Ulic Shannon; startres, Messrs R Gray and W D Watson; running events judges, Mes3rs E E Chamberlain, A Haughey, G E A Hood, J Elder, J L Murray and H O'Leary; stewards H J Dagg, J C Ewington, A Hoar, Jas McKenize, J B McKenzie and H Sinclair; wrestling, putting the caber vaulting and jumping—judges, Messrs G Heron, F W H Kummer, A Mutria and W Smith; stewards— A Collie, F Day, D Guild and G McHattie; dancing and piping events —judges, Messrs W H Beetham, C E Daniel!, G McHattie. J McHattie, J B McKenzie, A McLeod, T Wyeth and J M Coradine; stewards, D Loughlan, D McGregor, junr., and Donald McKenzie (Woodlands); starter, Mr G R Sykes; quoitsreferee, Mr E E Chamberlain; stewards, Messrs D McGregor, junr,, J McHattie, A Mutrie and Roy Tankersley; ground committee, Messrs E E Chamberlain, G E A Hood, A McLeod, D McGregor, junr., Jas McKenzie, J B McKenzie, G R Sykes, A Turner, E H Waddington and T Wyeth. The Secretary was authorised to instruct Mr J. R. Nicol to offer the usual privileges (booth, fruit stall and luncheon booth) for sale by auction on Saturday, December 12th. On the motion of Mr A. Haughey, Messrs J. McHattie and J. H. Pauling were appointed to make arrangements for procuring the necessary lops for the chopping and sawing events. It was decided to engage the services of the Masterton Municipal Band on Nuw Year's Day.
