SATISFACTORY WOOL SALES. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, under yesterday's date The sales have opened with a large attendance of buyers. There is a good competition and heavy buying by all branches of the trade. There is a good demand for all kinds of crossbred wool, for which prices are Id to per lb higher than the closing rates of last sales. The demand is active for all slipe wools, which have advanced 7£ to 10 per cent. Merino is ! in good demand and has advanced 5 to per cent. Prospects generally are brighter. MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report as follows on their held on Wednesday:We had a good yarding of sheep for this time of the year, more coming forward than advertised, and a satisfactory sale resulted, although business at auction was dull. A good entry of mixed cattle was submitted, almost the whole of it changing hands !at prices a little in excess of last sale, although the bulk of the business was done by private treaty. | Quotations:— Forward grown bullocks £5 12s 6d, two-year-old steers £2 7s 6d to £3 7s 6d, 18 months steers 30s to 355, mixed yearlings 24s to 3Us 6d, empty heifers . 355, store cow 245. Good 4-tooth wethers (shorn) 12s, 2-tooth wethers (shorn) 103 6d, woolly hoggets 10s 9d to 12s 4d, dry ewes 10s, aged ewes and lambs 14s 6d. Horses — Hacks £8 5s to £ls. Pigs— Weaner pigs 13s to 17s.
