THE PONGAROA RAILWAY.
Once again the Pongaroa railway has been brought up by the executive of the Masterton Chamber of Commerce, who on Friday chose Messrs G. C. Summerell, C. E. Daniell, J.. B. Moodie, and Donald Donald to collect definite data and report to a future meeting of the Council with & View of strong representations being made to the Government on the matter. It is satisfactory to find that the Chamber is abcut to launch out in a more definite way than hitherto over this vital matter, and still more satisfactory is it that four such capable and representative citizens have been entrusted with and have agreed to accept the responsibility of formulating a modus operandi. The people of the district, if they have any regard for the future welfare of the town and its great northern hinterland, must stand solidly with the Chamber in any •efforts it may put forth to forward the construction of a railway from Masterton to Waipukurau, via Pongaroa.
