AMUSEMENTS.

THE BURNS—SQUIRES FIGHT. The management [report record business throughout the Dominion with the latest biograph sensation, the Burns - Squires contest for the heavy-weight championship of the world, which is announced to take place in the Town Hall to night and to-morrov» evening. It will be remembered that this now historic battle was re-fought per medium of the cinematograph in the huge stadium, Sydney, on the same spot only two nights afterwards,in the presence of upwards of 8,000 persons, the two gladiators themselves being keen spectators of the exhibition. Messrs Geach, MacMahon, and Carroll, who secured the world's rights of the picture, are now exhibiting their purchase in the different States of the Commonwealth and New Zealand, with the most extraordinary success. Bill Squires, who accompanies the organisation, will appear in person and give a display of punching the ball and other interesting items. The first portion of the programme will be devoted to an interesting series of new pictures. The box plans are open at Miss Rive's.

THE CANADIAN "KILTIES."

The "Kilties," the greatest Scottish Band in the world, headed by their, giant drum majors, will appear in the Masterton Town Hall on Thursday, November 26th. A matineejjwill be given in the afternoon on the Showground. This Band twice played by command before the j King. The Band consists of over forty members, and includes the famous quartette of national dancers, the Clan Johnstone troupe, from Dundee, Scotland, also a male choir of twenty voices. A contemporary ! says that this is the most notable Band engagement that Australia has ever been ofEered. THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS. Mr Branscombe's new English company, the "Scarlet Troubadours." who are announced to appear at the Town Hall on Friday and Saturday, November 27th and 28th, make a special feature of their concerted vocal numbers. The party consists of six gentlemen and two ladies, who can not only sing but act, and who present in costume naval, military, hunting, pastoral, and various national scenes which serve as pretty gettings in which to introduce appropriate musical numbers. Two of the vocalists (Messrs Alfred Cunningham and Ford Waltham) were members of the famous London Meister Glee Singers, whilst Mr Sydney Mannering (the tenor) was for some years playing leading roles with the Moody-Manners Opera Company.
