HON. R. M'NAB'S DEFEAT.
MOTION OF KEGRET. By Telegraph—Press Association. GORE, November 23. At a meeting of supporters of the Government to-night, a resolution was passed "expressing regret at the Hon. R. McNab's defeat, and the hope that he will ere long re-enter politics as the Dominion can ill spare a man of such ability and integrity. The administration of the Lands and Agricultural Departments had given entire satisfaction to a majority of the elections throughout the Dominion." PALMERSTON N., November 23.™ Referring to the Hon. R. McNab's defeat, Mr Buick, in his address tonight, said that it was the best thing that could have happened to the country, and he hoped it would be lasting. Mr McNab's own constituency had put him out because they were ashamed of him.
