ALL RED CABLE ROUTE. Received November 23, 9.42 a.m. MELBOURNE, November^. Mr Josiah Thomas, Federal Postmaster-General, strongly advocates an "all-red" cable route. He. is willing, with Cabinet sanction, to negotiate with Canada, New Zealand, and England for the purchase of the Atlantic cable and Canadian land line. VANCOUVER SERVICE. COMMONWEALTH AND UNION COMPANY. Received November 24, 12.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, November 23. Mr Scott, secretary of the Central Postal Department, states that he does not understand the statement that unsatisfactory relationship exists between tbe Commonwealth Government and the Union Company. He says that a number of tentative proposals have been made in regard to the Vancouver service, and the Government has communicated with the Canadian Government concerning them, but has not received any reply.
