BRIT AIN'S NAVAL POLICY.

* At a meeting of the Imperial Maritime League, Lord Ampthill presiding, a resolution, proposed by Sir John Colomb, and seconded by Admiral Cave, was adopted urging a Government inquiry into the scope and effect of recent changes in the navy, with a view to the country being informed as regards ( the naval policy. Received November 22, 4.25 p.m. LONDON, November 21.
Speaking at Glasgow, the Right Hon. L. V. Harcourt announced that orders tor £600,000 worth of torpedo destroyers had been placed with the Clyde shipbuilding yards, and the Admiralty were now adding £900,000 worth of ships. The "Spectator" strongly protests ffagainst the mariner in which Liberal journals whittle away Mr Asquith's declaration in reference to the Navy by pretending that the fleets of the United States and Japan are not to be considered.
