SUDDEN DEATH.

By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 20. Shortly after noon, to-day, an elderly man named J. Lilly, a fruiterer in Sydenham, died suddenly at Messrs Laery, Macfarlane and Co.'s auction rooms, Lichfield street. It appears Mr Lilly was attending a sale of fruit and was taken ill in the room. He was helped to the rear of the building, and a doctor sent for, but before medical aid arrived Mr Lilly succumbed.
