FORGING BY A PHILANTHROPIST.
FORGIES BY A PHILANTHROPIST. Received November 19, 9 a.m. NEW YORK, November 18. Great amazement has been caused in Chicago through Peter Van Lissingen, a philanthropist and estate agent, having confessed to forgery to the extent of £140,000. He was sentenced, indefinitely, to from one bo fourteen years' imprisonment, with hard labour.
