Dr Collins has been given nine montho' leave of absence from his post as honorary surgeon of Wellington Hospital, to enable him to pay a visit to England.
Mr C. E. Twist, late of Oriental Bay (Wellington), who for the last ten years has been buyer for the North British and Hawke's Bay Freezing Company, has been appointed buyer for Thomas Borthwick and Sons, Ltd. Mr Twist's headquarters will be at Dannevirke.
Mi\3 Keay, wife ot the Rev. W. Alfred Keay, of Alicetown, who on Thursday last was injured through a tram colliding with the trap in which she was driving with her husband in Vivian Street, was so seriously injured that it is feared it will be some time before she will be able to walk again. Mr Keay had a wonderful escape, and though much shaken, preached four times on Sunday last.
Mr H. S. Moss, secretary of the Wairarapa A. and P. Association, Carterton, is to leave Wellington in the Corinthic on November 23rd for England. He will be accompanied by Mrs Moss, and expects to be away from the Dominion for about eight months. It is seventeen years since Mr Moss left Great Britain and landed in New Zealand.
The death is announced, at the age of 45 years, of Mr Robert William England, of the firm of England Bros., architects, of Christchurch. Mr England was well-known in connection with the building trade of that cityi and many prominent buildings were desjgned by him. He leaves a wife and familv.
