MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Cora* mittee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held in the Association's rooms on Saturday afternoon.' There were present —Messrs D. McGregor, junr. (chairman), Jos. 1 Morris, Bland Rayner, Q. William Perry, J. D. Crruickshank, J. P. Perry, C. F. Vallance, J. Strang, A. G. Pilmer, H. Morrison,' E. Harper, C. E. Daniell, W. J.j Welch, 0. C. Cooper and J. C. McKillop. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Buick and! Percy. The Treasurer reported as fot-Iows:-Dr balance October 10th, £4,760 12s sd; expenditure for month, £385 16s lid; receipts for the month, £96; debit balance aft date, £5,050 9s 4d. Accounts amounting to £BO were passed for payment. On the motion of Mr Donald, it was decided to allow draught horses to compete in all 'plough-horse classes, and that a class be added to the programme for a team of four plough horses. It was decided that a ribbon be allotted to the championship winner in hack classes* After a considerable amount of discussion, it was finally decided that any single harness horsa be allowed to compete in the doubleharness classes, and also to allow llsfz hacks and ladies' hacks to compete against one another, a first prize it* the ladies' hack classes or list hacks to debar from further competition in either class.
In accordance with his notice of! motion, Mr McGregor moved that the resolution passed at a meeting held on Aueust 18th, dealing with the site for the new grandstand be rescinded.! The motion was seconded by Mr Wm4 Perry and carried. On the motion of Mr Perry, Messrs Harper, Morris, Vallance, Moodie, and Summerell were appointed a committee to make enquiries as to what steps had been taken by the Technical School Managers with regard to the wool-classing classes , and report to> a further meeting of the Committee. The following were appointed to select two judges for the various classes and submit the same to a meeting of theJCommittee:-- Draught horse classes, Messrs Q. Donald and R. J. Dagg; light horse classes, Messrs W. D. Watson and C. F. Vallance; cattle classes, Messrs J. Strang and Q. Donald; sheep classes, Messrs W. Perry and R. Gray; miscellaneous classes, Messrs T. P. i Lett and E. Harper. Messrs Thos. Williams, P. Debreceney, E. T. Dickenson, H. Byford, E. G. Hutton, T. Handyside and Wm. Handyside were elected members of the Association.
