COUNTY ELECTIONS.
OPAKI RIDING. ! The election of County Councillors to represent the Opaki Riding on the Maaterton County Council on Thursday resulted in the return of Messrs W. J. Welch and D. W. Foreman, in that order respectively. Details of the voting are as follow
Two informal votes were recorded. MAURICEVILLE COUNTY. The Mauriceville County Council election resulted in Messrs Jackson, Forsberg, Isakson, Perry, Daeg arid Kummer being returned. For Mauriceville West Riding the voting was as follows: C. C. Jackson 101 votes C. Forsberg 83 votes O. Isakson 76 votes Wall 45 votes J. F. Heckler 30 votes ~ For the East Riding the voting was as follows J. E. Perry 71 votes H. J. Dagg 66 votes F. W. H. Kummer 65 votes J. Kennedy 28 votes PaHIATUA COUNTY. By Telegraph—Special to the Age). PAHIATUA, November 12. The County Council elections, which were held yesterday, resulted as follows: Mangaone Riding—T. Hodgins and T. Quirk (unopposed.) Pukemiku Riding—A. Barrell. Mangahao Riding—R. Smith, H. Cornelius. Puketoi Riding—A. Ross, H. F. Coombe. Makuri Riding—J. D. Piper, S. Bolton. In many instances the polling was very close, and in consequence the official declaration was deferred pending a scrutiny of the votes.
FEATHERSTON COUNTY. The election for a representative for the Greytown, Featherston, and Maryborough ridings of the Featherston County Council took place on Wednesday. Mr A. M. Wilkinson (54 votes) defeated Mr W. J. Nix (47) for the Greytown riding. For Martinborough, Mr T. F. Evans was defeated, scoring 31 votes, against Mr Perry, who obtained 73. Mr Q. Donald was returned for Featherston, obtaining 22 votes against Mr John Cundy's 21.
WAIRARAPA SOUTH. The following have been re-elected Councillors for the County of Wairarapa South for the ensuing three years:—Belvedere Riding, Messrs. T. V. Moore and Geo. Stevens; Parkvale Riding Mr Wm. Perry; Dalefield Riding, Messrs R. G. Welch and F. Court; Waungaraki Riding, Messrs J. Strang, H. S. Mason, D. Mc L. Douglas and R. Barrer,
