NO-LICENSE DEMONSTRATION

PALMEKSTON N., Nov. 11
Mr J. J. Bognall addressed a crowded meeting to-night on Local Option. He strongly denounced the methods oi the No-License party, and quoted returns showing the failure of No-License in prohibited districts
At the conclusion of the meeting there was a No-License demonstration, and the. lights had to be lowered before the hall was emptied.

A NOISY MEETING
By Ti legraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, November 11. A public debate on the result o£ NoLiccuse in the Staid of Maine took place to-night between the' ItsV* Thomson and Mr A. S. Adams in the Garrison Hall, which was packed. Several hundreds weie unable to gain admission. The meeting was exceedingly noisy from the outset, and Mr Adam.-, who led eft' on behalf of the N> License Party, was subjected to continuous interruption. At the end of half an hour, Mr Thomson took the platform ar,d received much the same treatment.
The disputants then had twenty minutes each for reply, and were to have had another ten minutes each, but the meeting had become so uproarious that neither could be heard and the meeting closed without a voto being taken as to whom had won the debate. It was probably the largest and noisest meeting ever htld in Dunedin. The crowd outside were kept in check by the police, who used a hose on occasions with good effect.
