The intimidation exercised by the terrorists, and the unsatisfactory attitude of many of the crowd after the attempt on the life of LieutenantGovernor Eraser, and other ominous signs in Calcutta, has aroused in« tense indignation in Northern India, a-jd a strong feeling is expressed in favour of the establishment of a court of summary jurisdiction.' The detective inspector who tracked Bhakai, the murderer of the Kennedys, at MuzzafTarpore, was shot dead in a street in Caluctta by three Bengalis, who Cbcaped.
