The New Zealand Cup meeting was continued to-day at Riccarton in beautiful weather, and wirh a public holiday the attendance was again very good, among those present being Lord Plunket and suite. The racing was extremely interesting throughout, and the win

of Sir George Clifford's colt in the Dsrby was very popular. The totalisator investments amounted to £22,134 as against £21,739 last year, in addition to which there were 17 bookmakers licensed inside, and 35 outside. Results:—-

Husbandman, 8.10 1 St. Aidan, 8.10 2 Diabnlo, 8.10 3 Also ran—Nobel and faster Soult 8.10, Gold Lace and Sunglow 8.5. Husbandman and Diabolo cut out all the running, the former winning comfortably by a length and a-half. St. Aidan beat Diabolo on th.B post by a neck for second place. Time, 2min 39 2-ssec. Juvenile Plate, of 400 sovs; 5 furlngß—Armlet, 8.2, 1; Nautiform, 8.0 (including 141b penalty) 2; Flitaway, 8.2, 3. Also started Serenade 8.12 (including 51b penalty) and Kilts 8.4. Armlet led into the course proper, but Nautiform came with a great run and was only beaten by half a head. Plitaway was a neck away. Time, lmin 1 3-ssee.
