BRISBANE, November 9
The Commissioner of Police has been informed that there is>o truth in the reported rising against Chinese at Atherton, North Queensland.
A cablegram puLlished yesterday morning stated that there was a colour feud at Atherton, and also one in Hobart and vicinity, and that in the latter place the Chinese had been ordered to quit "Chinatown" within 24 hours. It was further stated that Chinese had been evicted from farms and that eighteen houses had been burned.
