Colonel Seely, speaking at Manchester, emphasised that racialism in South Africa was dead.. He mentioned that a new fact was that the most influential and most trusted leaders ot the Dutch people in South Africa had urgently asked the Imperial Government to maintain the largest possible garrison. of British soldiers there.
