FEDERAL CAPITAL SITE.
YASS-CANBERRA SELECTED. Received November 6, 9.55 p.m. MELBOURNE, November 6. In the Senate, the ballot in connection with the Federal capital site caused a good deal of excitement, and resulted in the choice of the YassCanberra site. The first ballot was a tie, Yass and Tumut each securing eighteen votes. This was the out?ome of some secret engineering by the supporters of the Dalgety site. When the tie was announced, the Dalgety men claimed that the whole question had ended, but the President insisted that each of the six sites nominated must b3 balloted for. The final ballot resulted— Yass-Canberra 19 Tumut 17
