WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required tc ie taken, under " The Public Works Act, 1908," for a certain work, to wit, for the purposes of a gasworks within the Borough of Masterton, in pursuance of powers granted by " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," : And whereas the Council of the Borough of Masterton has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by " The Public Works Act, 1908 " : Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public Woiks Act, 1908," and "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and of every other power and authority in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of gasworks, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton.
