ANGRY DEMONSTRATION IN

COURT. Received November 3, 12.36 a.m. SYDNEY, November 2. A strike of rock choppers at the City sewerage works resulted in charge of instigating the strike being preferred under the Industrial Disputes Act against the executive of the Rock Choppers Ufnion. Ryan, the secretary of the Union, was fined £3O or six weeks' imprisonment. Ryan elected to go to prison. The sentence was received with an angry demonstration by two hundred strikers, who were in Conrt. They hooted the Judge, and scrambled over the seats to shake hands with Ryan. The cases against the other members of the executive were postponed.
