GREY LYNN CAMPAIGN.
The campaign in Grey Lynn has now reached a pitch of excitement which places it in the position of the keenest fight in the Dominion. The committees of the Hon. G. Fowlds and Mr Nicholson are working so strenuously that it it is scarcely possible to believe that one person over the age of 21 will be left off the rolls when they are closed. Both sidss are equally confident of success, and so absorbing has the interest become that electors in other districts in Auckland are taking sides with one or the other candidate, and paying little or no attention to the contests in their own electorates. Arguments are heard between Parnell, City, or Ponsonby people over the Grey Lynn campaign, quite as warm as between residents of Grey Lynn itself. One thing only is certain, and that is that there is no safety in forecasting the success of either candidate until the numbers go up.
