Mr Millward, stationmaster at Balclutha, has been transferred to Hastings. The death occurred at Carterton yesterday morning of Mrs Rebecca Hooper, at the age of 78 year's. The deceased leaves one son, Mr W. Hooner, of Dalefield. Mr A. E. Relf, professional coach to the Eden Cricket Club, Auckland, is a passenger on board the Corinthic,, due next week from London. Mr Relf is accompanied by his wife and daughter. The death occurred at Wanganui oir Monday of Mr Henry Westland, of Pureiri, Turakina. In June last Mr Westland was kicked on the forehead by a horse, and sustained the injury which caused his death. Mr and Mrs C. Elgar and Miss Elgar, who have been touring Great Britain and Europe for the past fifteen months, are expected to arrive ~ back in New Zealand in April next. Last month Mr Elgar was judging Romney Marsh sheep at the Ashford show in Kent. Mr J. T.Bell, a well-known land agent of Christchurch, died at his residence, Whiteleigh, Addington, on Sunday. The late Mr Bell, who was 70 years of age at the time of his death, had been in business in Christchurch for a large number of years. Bishop W. L. Williams, of Napier, Dr. H. Dawson, of Pahiatua, Mr David J ones (Ross and Glendining, Wellington), and Mrs Jones, Miss Meredith, of Masterton, and Mr E. B. Burdekin, of Nelson, formerly of the Agricultural Department, Wellington, are amongst the passengersfrom London by the Corinthic, due here next Tuesday.
