SUCCESSFUL ENGINEERS.
The engineering firm of Messrs. Lyttle Bros, in Masterton ihas achieved some notable succesEes in repairing and manufacturing work. Within the last few weeks they ihave succeeded in placing in perfect (running order a Darracq car, which had been in the hands of many of the leading engineering firms of Hawke's Bay, but whiah >was eventually classed as "not irepairable." The owner of the csc, «a wellknown Hawke's Bay statien-hdlder, having heard that Messes 'Lyttle Bros, were adept at effecting intricate repairs to machinery generally, railed the car ti> Masterton, and Mr Jim Lyttle took it in fcand. It was a trying proposition to put rjnto good repair a car that lhad been patched all over and considerably altered from the original design. The car was dismantled, mewiparts were cast, and the machine irebuilt, with the result that the car is now running as good as the day itileft the hands of the manufacturer The owner came through to Masterton last week, and submitted the car toi-some severe tests, negotiating come of the hilly mads that are to be .'found in the district. He expressed the opinion to Mr Lyttle that he open in business in the township of Hastings (Hawke's Bay) where there were a great number of cars in iuse, and where the services of .a skilled enaineer would be eagerly sought after. The suggestion wasnot entertained, however, as ttherfirm of Lyttle Bros, meet with solid support from Wairarapa residents, and (.their large staff ia at all times fully employed.
